December 2022 Staff Picks:
“The 2020 Bodega Chacra "Sin Azufre" Pinot Noir is a wonderful wine. The palate is rich with dried raspberries and fresh cherry, as well as hints of herbaceousness and wild mushroom. "Sin Azufre" - meaning "sulphur free" in Spanish - is the personal project of Piero Incisa della Rocchetta of the Sassicaia estate in Bolgheri. At Chacra, Incisa della Rocchetta creates wines with muscularity and finesse. Perhaps the wine is so good because of the 60+ year-old vines, or the organic/biodynamic viticultural practices, but one thing is for sure: this is a unique and wonderful bottle of wine.” - Logan Georges
"Aromas of freshly sliced mushrooms with blackberries, black cherries and some ripe strawberries. Medium to full body with dark fruit and chewy tannins. More structured in past vintages. Rather chewy. No sulfur added here. Drink or hold."
