Mark Davidson once said, “grenache delivers what pinot noir promises”! Louis simply nails this one in the light, crunchy expression of Grenache. It comes from Blewitt springs, between McLaren Flat and Clarendon, in the middle of the rolling hills of McLaren Vale. This area is home to a diverse array of soil types, but is most famous for its ancient sand dunes where Grenache with vine age makes stunningly perfumed, pretty and intriguing wine.
The sixth vintage of this wine, with the bulk being from the Moritz road vineyard Dave Gartelmann looks after and a little inclusion from a second old vine sandy Blewitt Site owned by the Brini family. This is five different micro ferments - loads of whole bunch, a good deal of extended maceration. Tannin and detail the focus. 263 cases produced.
