"The 2019 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru is matured in 50% new oak (one new barrel and one used). It has an intense bouquet of blackberry briar blueberry and violet aromas very tight at first and demanding coaxing from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with very supple tannins layers of creamy dark fruit and a touch of licorice toward the persistent finish. Superb. But it will need time. (Drink between 2025-2050)"

"Here too there is enough reduction to render an evaluation of the nose impossible. More interesting are the sleek intense and solidly concentrated broad-shouldered flavors that brim with dry extract and a more subtle minerality that surfaces on the powerful equally long and notably firm finish that offers even better depth.
