Alain Graillot is one of the greats of the Northern Rhone. His Syrahs consistently outperform their appellations (& neighbors!). In 1985, after cutting his teeth with Jeremy Seysses at Domaine Dujac in Burgundy, Alain went back home to Crozes-Hermitage to start his own domaine. He farms his exceptional stoney terroir with organic procedures and still uses his trademark 100% whole-cluster approach, and the results are front and center in the glass. This is pure, violet-infused, spicy, straight up delicious Syrah. These wines belong in the cellar of every serious Northern Rhone lover!
A very pure and floral nose with cherries, violets and plums as well. Medium body with velvety tannins and bright acidity. Such a succulent core of redcurrants and violets with minerality and a transparent character to the focused finish. Drink or hold.
