Domaine Pinson may be a new name to some, but the Pinson family has farmed in Chablis since 1640 and is considered one of the oldest families in the appellation. Their 14 hectare estate includes some of the crème de la crème terroir of Chablis, including Montee de Tonnerre, Fourchaume, and the grandest cru of them all, Les Clos. The domaine is run by a father-daughter duo Charlène and Laurent, who brought steadfast focus on quality practices in the vineyard, including organic farming and hand harvesting. The painstaking effort shows through their elegantly structured wines, and the critics agree - Pinson's Les Clos scores on par with that of Raveneau... at less than 1/10 of the price!
"From 60-year-old southeast-facing vines, with 10% of the blend matured in new oak. This shows Mont de Milieu at its best. Floral notes combine with good ripeness of stone fruit on the palate, freshened up by lovely acidity. Plenty of mineral notes add extra complexity to the whole. A fine premier cru which has power but in a refined, elegant package." - 94 Points, Decanter
